No value for guests. No vAlue for money. Though the property is good, the staff are friendly but all things considered and comparing to 5 star properties from rest of the goa taj exotica is highly overpriced. Normal charges being levied even in off season during a lockdown period is just too much. And even after all this we wernt allowed to go in the pool, the beach and even the lawn tennis where we got shoved off saying the pitch is wet and we cant clean it. I really felt all my money was pushed down the gutter.
1. On the day of check-in, July 26, we were asked to check-in after 2 PM (even though that's the standard check-in time) because a larger group was leaving the hotel and they needed more time to prep our rooms. The staff at Grand Hyatt were super accommodating despite their hotel being full and they let us check out much later than we'd originally planned to.2. When we got to Taj Exotica, we were asked to pay up front, which is something we've never been asked to do when "Pay at the property" is an option.3. It was 3 days past my husband's birthday, and we weren't expecting any special preps, but the staff were sweet enough to say that they'd decorate the room on July 27 when we were out for breakfast. I was quite impressed, but the staff did not follow through on July 27. We're not kids; we don't want balloons and decorations but the fact that you promised something and didn't deliver was just disappointing,4. The WC in our room had poop stains that we had to complain about within minutes of checking in.5. On the day of checkout, we were asked to checkout at 12 to accommodate another guest despite being asked to check-in late as well. How is it that some guests are treated differently? And how do you take those calls? I'm very curious to know.
They have the best beach. The buffet spread was awesome, lots of activities for kids like swimming, cycling, outdoor play area and even indoor play area for the smaller ones. During check in they asked for RTPCR report for all members which made me feel safe. The staff was always in a mask and gloves. Service was prompt and with a smile. Well maintained lawns and spacious rooms.
